Week 10: The 60 Second Sketch Effect
Sixty seconds to a nice, better-than-the-stock-filter Sketch. Of course, I then heavily altered the finished product, and ended up spending a lot longer than a minute on each one. All source images courtesy of stock.xchng

Week 10: Portfolio Poster
I had a hard time coming up with a way to creatively showcase past work from this quarter, and so I looked over all of my assignments, and thought maybe I'd see how many ways I could transform my daughter's portrait using techniques we learned together. I tied it together by turning it into an advertisement for my freelance graphic design business.
From left to right:
1.) Original portrait of Ti'anna, photo corrected for lighting/contrast. 2.) Portrait enhanced with offset framing / B&W. 3.) Porcelain doll version, with rose sketch masked into background. 4.) Handpainted version: outlined by hand, then filled / shaded using selection tools, layers, blending, over a transparent background. 5.) B&W, touched up for contrast, and enhanced with selective colorization. 6.) Anthropomorphic cat version, by special request from the model, created by overlaying photograph of cat, liquify tool, various blending layers, painting with mixer brush, and color enhancement. |
