Week 8: Boxing Miss Conception.
I thought I'd make a fun play on two concepts. One of my favorite actors is in two of my favorite movies, that have absolutely nothing to do with each other, and I thought I'd make a play on the title by taking the name of his character from one film and using it in the title of the other. Thus-- Snape & Sensibility. Enjoy. Source images below, taken with wanton disregard for copyright laws from various sources around the internet.
Week 8: Advanced Compositing- Postcard assignment.
I selected several images from Stock Exchange http://www.sxc.hu/ of the countryside in Holland; they are included below. After matching the colors and adjusting each image, I composited them and added text and layer styles. I've never been to Holland, but I'd love to visit!
Week 8: Custom Shape tool signs.
I based these two signs on a nursery rhyme I read today with my kids. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What_Are_Little_Boys_Made_Of%3F
Week 8: Reflection effects.
Two images, selected from Stock Exchange (http://www.sxc.hu/), and reflected to create visually interesting effects. On the first project, he door required a lens correction to straighten it out before I could proceed. On the second, rather than isolate the butterfly, I decided to composite using a layer blending effect, Overlay. On both, because the objects were irregularly shaped, I put them on a colored background, the first with a stone texture, and the second with a diamond gradient matching the autumnal tones in the image. I thought the first one felt a bit like a deck of cards shaped like gravestones, and the second one reminds me of stained glass.
